Position Summary

This critical role for a global manufacturing analyst based in Singapore and reporting to the Regional Finance Controller in Singapore, with a strong dotted line responsibility to the Director of Finance in Portland, . This individual is responsible for finance business partnering with the business units, budget management & forecasting, and providing financial analysis to global manufacturing organization.

This individual is responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing a variety of financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning, control, and analysis, by performing the following duties.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties


  • Assist Regional Finance Controller and Director of Finance in the development of the budget, planning, and other global manufacturing financial requirements.
  • Work closely with finance and manufacturing management in preparation of the periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) forecasts and for identifying and analyzing trends.
  • Provide financial analysis and justifications related to business decisions, expense and capital commitments, with a goal toward business optimization.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Support and work directly with the management team in setting, analyzing and monitoring monthly/quarterly forecasts, including having primary responsibility for managing the variable cost portion of manufacturing expenditures
  • Assist in developing factory labor and overhead rates in alignment with corporate guidance on an annual basis
  • Provide reporting and analysis related to material cost variances such as purchase price variance to procurement personnel as well as finance and manufacturing management.
  • Support global logistics activities with financial analysis including impact of freight, duty, and taxes on various business cases.
  • Provide analysis and opportunity assessment related to transitioning new products into production and older products out of production with an eye on efficiency and cost effectiveness of transitions.
  • Analyze budget and forecast variances for conformance with conventional procedures, policies and organizational objectives.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel in both Singapore and Portland in a positive, proactive manner to ensure internal controls are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Evaluate and analyze key business drivers and financial results and advise management of variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, or customer financial regulation as it relates to supporting manufacturing organization.
  • Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
  • Prepare studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
  • Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
  • Conducts special ad-hoc studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
  • This job may on occasion have team lead responsibilities. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • As this is a global role in an international company headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, USA, the candidate must be willing and able to work flexible hours in order to efficiently communicate with  finance, corporate finance, and manufacturing personnel in both Massachusetts and Oregon.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent MBA and/or CPA is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience; including experience supporting a manufacturing environment
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent phone and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
